Also his sunglasses have changed so that they lookmore rounded so they look more like Neo's sunglasses which of courseimplicates their connection. His suit has become a bit darkeras if to signify that he is no longer an Agent of the system but arogue agent now. Agent Smith's costume haschanged slightly in the color scheme. Morpheus' and Trinity's costumes are the samewith minor changes and they still look cool. EspeciallyNeo's costume in The Matrix is very cool and is a great improvementover the previous film. Without spoiling anything I can say that lovers ofcool fight scenes and fx are in for a hell of a treat with this one.In terms of costumes the film has really grown into its own. Some scenes had me holding my breath and gasping at howbeautiful and overwhelming it all was and as much as I love thephilosophical aspects of the film I can watch it for the effectsthemselves as well. The people who think the story is pretentious and thedialog stubby will undoubtedly get their adrenaline fix in the actionscenes. Rivaling the likes of Star Wars and LotR and that issaying something. The real effects, however, take place inside thematrix and just like in the first film the effects are absolutelyground breaking. The 'real' world has been given a face lift to makeit more interesting. There is literally something to lookat in every scene. His performance is forlack of a better word fantastic.Effect wise Reloaded is a feast. Although his screen time issomewhat limited he manages to leave a lasting impression and becomesone of my favorite screen baddies of all time. As it was with the first film HugoWeaving provides the best acting by far. Her one brief scene is bothhighly interesting and well acted. Gloria Foster returns as the Oracle in her (sadly) lastperformance as she died during the filming. Other semi-known actors make glorified cameos.Actors like Jada Pinkett Smith, Monica Bellucci and Lambert Wilson aregreat examples. His performance isslightly more stylized than in the first film but he steals almostevery scene he is in. Her character, while stillass-kicking, is too dependent on Neo. I don't blameher as much as I blame the writing. Carrie-Anne Moss has taken a small step down. Hisoverall performance is very fitting for the character which, lets faceit, is somewhat square and Keanu's acting fits that kind of charactervery well. His monotonevoice is canceled out by his clear and well defined body language.
Keanu Reeves plays Neo prettymuch like he did in the first movie and that is not bad.
I'll be the first one to admit that Reloaded has a few slowpoints and that the story line has a tendency towards the pretentiousbut the film is also highly intelligent and entertaining but mostimportantly the film gets the story from A to B with adequate and insome cases remarkable character development.Acting wise the film is in the same kind of league as the first film ofthe series with a few mediocre performances, a few decent performancesand one or two excellent performances. I don't understand the seemingreluctance to accept this film a suitable continuation of the originalfilm.
The Matrix Reloaded has everything you could possibly want from asummer blockbuster but it like its predecessor has a heck of a lot moreand while Reloaded is not as good as the first Matrix film it sure isclose to the standard of the original. Meanwhile Neo's recurrent dreams depicting Trinity's death have got him worried and as if it was not enough, Agent Smith has somehow escaped deletion, has become more powerful than before and has chosen Neo as his next target. As Zion prepares for the ultimate war, Neo, Morpheus and Trinity are advised by the Oracle to find the Keymaker who would help them reach the Source. But a nasty piece of news hits the human resistance: 250,000 machine sentinels are digging to Zion and would reach them in 72 hours. Neo himself has discovered his superpowers including super speed, ability to see the codes of the things inside the matrix, and a certain degree of precognition.
Six months after the events depicted in The Matrix, Neo has proved to be a good omen for the free humans, as more and more humans are being freed from the matrix and brought to Zion, the one and only stronghold of the Resistance. During this, Neo must decide how he can save Trinity from a dark fate in his dreams. Neo and the rebel leaders estimate that they have 72 hours until 250,000 probes discover Zion and destroy it and its inhabitants.
